In 1999 Hornslet Møbelfabrik were nominated for the “Patent Price Of The Year 1999” as the first Danish wood manufacture ever. The nomination was given for Hornslet Cabinets’ ability to bend veneered fibreboards based on new principles.

The HORNflex technique is an alternative to traditional form pressed wood. No specific tools or dies are required during the curving process, which is ideal for production of small batches. Furthermore, the technique can be applied to other materials than wood. This significantly increases the areas where the technique potentially can be used.

The HORNflex technology is already used in the Hi-Fi business with success. Other businesses, however, have also seen the advantages of the technique. The patent can be used in connection with specific projects carried out by Hornslet Cabinets or under a licence agreement.
